Grilled chicken breast with french fries and garlic sauce

When you want to indulge in something tasty and quick to prepare, this recipe is the ideal solution: Grilled chicken breast with french fries and garlic sauce.

How to make grilled chicken breast without grilling

Either you want to "detoxify" your body, or you want to lose the extra pounds you added to the wasp waist between Gregorian and Julian Christmas (Dec. 25 - Jan. 7), all the sites and blogs , be they of fashion & style, life & health, home & garden, food & drink, or breaking news, recommends salads, vegetables, and lean fish grilled chicken breast. Even the prince, especially the "women's" magazines, does not deviate from this custom.

Being outside in winter, sometimes with "degrees of cold", in Chisinau, it is a bit awkward to heat the grill in the yard or in front of the building. So we tend to give up the option with "grilled chicken breast”. Wrong! The wood or charcoal grill can be successfully replaced by an electric grill or grill pan.

But even if you do not have the kitchen equipped with such devices, at least one pan you still have: non-stick & # 8211 tefloned (with or without thermospot), with ceramic or stone coating, or even a simple one, made of cast iron or black sheet. In any case, in such a pan you can brown the chicken breast so that it comes out "grilled".

What do you need?

In addition to the pan, you also need chicken breast (this I learned from Captain Obvious), vegetable oil, spices (usually salt and pepper):

  • 400 g boneless and skinless chicken breast (possibly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons grape seed oil (but can also be olive or even sunflower)
  • Sea salt, black pepper or freshly ground mixture - to taste.

How do you proceed?

If the chest piece is whole, wipe it with absorbent towels (washing under running water does more harm than good, in the sense that it can spread Salmonella on a surface with a considerable radius), then cut it into thin slices (5 - 6 mm), as for schnitzels.

If the chest is ready sliced, remove excess moisture with absorbent towels and read on.

Put the breast slices in a large bowl, season them with spices and oil, then mix everything thoroughly (even by hand) so that the spices and oil cover the entire surface of the breast slices. It is advisable to use a disposable glove, both for hygienic and sanitary reasons, and for the sake of not staining yourself with oil.

Leave the chicken breast to “marinate” for 5-10 minutes, during which time heat the pan (without oil) on the stove, over maximum heat. If the pan is equipped with a thermospot, find out immediately when it is hot (the color of the sticker in the center of the bottom of the pan becomes monochromatic). In a regular frying pan, bring the open palm closer to the bottom of the pan 1 cm. You should not hold out for more than 2-3 seconds. Don't try to lean your palm against the bottom of the pan, you might succeed!

Place the breast pieces in the pan, not overlapping, with space between them. Once they have fallen into the hot pan, do not arrange them "to look good in the picture", leave them as they fell until you have to turn them on the opposite side.

At a thickness of 5 mm, after 4-5 minutes you can turn them, leaving them for another 4 minutes on the other side. If they are thinner, turn them faster, and if they are thicker, leave them longer. That's all I learned from Captain Obvious.

In order not to be mistaken, you can turn the meat when the visible part of the slice (ie the one that is not in direct contact with the bottom of the pan) begins to change color. The turn is from translucent pink to opaque white.

Once the chicken breast slices are browned on both sides, you can extract them from the pan. After emptying the pan and removing it from the heat, you can pour a cup of water into it, but not immediately, but after about 3-5 minutes. In this way, the residues in the pan do not harden and the pan is easier to clean. If cleaning the frying pan is not your job, there is no point in getting tired of this extra operation.

In addition to chicken breast, to keep up with the dietary trend, there are some vegetables cooked, steamed or pan-fried with a little butter (this is not so dietary, it's good). There is even a puree: carrots, peas, celery, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, purple potatoes, even normal potatoes. For non-dietary and anti-silhouette purposes, I warmly recommend french fries in an oil bath. Even a glass of rosé!

What can you eat for 1200 calories?

What do you eat when you are on a diet? But especially how much? We answer you with concrete examples referring to the value of 1200 calories, the average of a weight loss diet.

  • You could choose 120 g of cheese or cheese merdenele, ie 2 pieces & hellip or
  • 2 pretzels of about 50 g and a coffee with milk & hellip or
  • A sandwich of 50 g of bread (2 slices) with 60 g of chicken ham (3 slices) with 50 g of lettuce (2 leaves) with which to eat and a box of 200 g of cottage cheese (2 % fat), but also 100 g of assorted salad of tomatoes and cucumbers.
  • You could eat 100 g of chocolate & hellip or
  • 200 g of bread & ndash and nothing else & hellip or
  • You could get the same number of calories by eating 125 g of grilled turkey breast with 100 g of mashed potatoes, 300 g of vegetables and a 100 g baked pepper salad seasoned with soy sauce.

Which of these 3 options that I have presented to you above will ensure the necessary energy and satiety that you definitely need for the hours you still have to spend at the office?
For a 300 calorie dinner

  • You could eat 100 g of french fries, a small portion from McDonalds & hellip or
  • 150 g of chicken breast schnitzel prepared like at home, in an oil bath & hellip or
  • You could satisfy your hunger and ensure a peaceful sleep by eating 200 g of grilled mushrooms with a spoon of 50 g of light cheese cream, along with which you can also eat 150 g of baked peppers with 80 g of breast smoked chicken (3-4 slices) plus half a box of cottage cheese, ie 100 g.

The numbers game
A diet is a game of numbers and is your choice if you want to starve and torment yourself or if you want to quench your hunger for as long as possible without endangering your weight. Among the foods that cost you the most, from a calorie perspective, are sweets, bread, potatoes, rice, semi-prepared or fast food products, but also fruits and oilseeds. But don't get me wrong. Even if such foods have a high & bdquocost & rdquo, this does not mean that they can not be part of a balanced diet, but you must take into account the amount you want to eat, its number of calories and time. for which they give you a feeling of satiety.

If you have the curiosity to look over the food label of a packet of hazelnuts you will notice that 100 g of salted and fried hazelnuts have only 600 calories, given that the daily caloric requirement that a woman who wants to lose weight must ensure does not exceed, most of the time, 1200 calories.

Your allies

On the other hand, there are those foods that really give you that optimal amount of calories. The head of the list is occupied, of course, with vegetables. A serving of vegetables - equivalent to a cup of fresh greens - rarely exceeds 30 calories. On the same list is also grilled chicken breast or lean fish (salmon, perch, sea bream or pangasius). A normal serving of 150-200 g of such foods does not exceed 200-250 calories. Semi-skimmed dairy products & ndash with a fat content between 2% and 7% are next on the list. A serving of homemade cheese of about 200 g rarely exceeds 250 calories. In terms of fruit, a normal serving can also mean 200 g of mandarins, oranges, kiwis or pineapples, and this serving does not exceed 150 calories.

Therefore, it is extremely important to realize that you do not need to starve if you want to lose weight. Nature and, implicitly, supermarkets offer you a variety of foods to choose from so as to avoid the frustration of a diet.
It's all about knowing how to play with numbers and learning to decipher the meaning and effects of the quantity-calorie ratio.

Easy to complete with garnishes, the tender chicken breast in the oven has the potential to become a family favorite, if you follow exactly the steps in the recipe. In time, you can top it with herbs and spices as you like.

Details are important in this recipe.

  • The thinner a slice of chicken breast, the faster it will cook. Try to keep them all the same size or check the preparation once every 5-10 minutes.
  • Cream has the role of keeping the chicken in a humid environment. If you don't have cream, you can replace it with Greek yogurt or a light mayonnaise.
  • Chicken breast needs space. The pieces of meat must not be glued to each other in the pan, so that the sauce stays even.
  • Chicken meat will remove liquids from the inside that you don't have to worry about because it evaporates during cooking.

Suitable gaskets

  • Noodles
  • Rocket salad
  • Mashed potatoes or peas
  • Rice with butter
  • Coleslaw

Chicken roll simply& # 8211 Tasty and easy to prepare recipe for baked chicken roll. It can be served as a main course with a side dish, but it can also be a tasty appetizer, a kind of house sausage prepared healthy, without additives, gelatin or chemicals.

The best dishes are home-made, with healthy ingredients. Simple chicken roll, baked, fragrant and tasty, I ate it for breakfast as a healthy alternative to what is on the market.

Chicken roll & # 8211 house sausage & # 8211 is a good idea for all moms who want healthy recipes and are looking for suggestions for the school package with tasty ingredients but no chemicals.

Since the pieces of meat do not have a binder to stick to them (gelatin or minced meat) the slices will be cut a little thicker than those for a regular sausage.

I ate chicken roll with a tomato next to it, while my mother put a teaspoon of mustard on it. For my son I made a sandwich using a bun. I heated the bun cut in half on the grill, I put on both halves slices of cheese that melted and stuck to the hot bread, lettuce leaf, chicken roll, 1/2 teaspoon mayonnaise sauce (you can put ketchup house) as a binder and thin slices of tomato. Tell you how good it was?

I invite you to make any kind of sandwich you want, depending on your taste and imagination, then tell me if I'm wrong when I say that this chicken roll can be the best and healthiest solution to prepare delicious sandwiches.

The chicken roll has pieces of breast and boned chicken legs. As I said at the beginning, this roll can be eaten hot, along with a mashed potato or sauteed vegetable.

When I first made this roll, I didn't think I could use it as a sausage. We wanted to eat it for dinner, with vegetables in a wok. It's just that the plans didn't work out, and our dinner moved to the city to the restaurant, with some friends who were passing through Bucharest. The roll was in the fridge overnight.

I remembered the chicken pastrami I made for Harry when he was little, so I thought this roll could be just as good. And I would say it's even better! It is more aromatic, with different textures, beautiful appearance, aromas and very good taste. I used paprika, dried thyme and garlic powder. You can try to lightly grease the pieces of meat with mustard and dress them with greens, according to taste, you can put between the strips of meat a little grated mozzarella or cheese that will be a very good binder between the pieces of meat.

You can find more recipes for chicken breast rolls prepared by me if you click here. I also have a very tasty chicken roll with minced chicken, and this recipe can be read if you press here.

I hope I convinced you to try the recipe too, so I leave below the list of ingredients and how to prepare for chicken roll & # 8211 house sausage:

250 g boneless chicken legs

1 tablespoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

I had a very large piece of chicken breast. I cut it in half, then I removed a few strips to keep it flat. I put a sheet of cellophane over the large pieces, then I stretched them a little with a twister, thinning the pieces of meat a little.

I didn't want to use the sledgehammer so as not to damage the fiber of the pieces of meat.

I seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, then greased them with paprika and sprinkled thyme.

I cut the chicken legs in half. Over one of the large pieces of chicken breast I put two thin strips from those removed at the beginning (with a maximum thickness of 1 cm).

In the mouth of these strips I put the pieces of boned chicken legs, then I covered with the second piece of chicken breast.

I tightened everything with a string and put the roll obtained in a baking bag. You can use baking paper instead of this bag and tighten the ends so that no air enters.

I baked the chicken roll and chicken legs for 45 minutes, then took it out of the bag, drained the liquid in the tray and let it brown for about 10 minutes on both sides.

After baking, I let the roll cool to room temperature, then overnight in the refrigerator.

As I was telling you, the roll was hard to cut in two places, it even broke. In those places I tightened the string too hard and it entered the flesh.

You can cut it nicely, into thinner slices (but not very thin!) If you do not tighten the roll with string and use baking paper or baking bag directly.

As long as the roll is well tightened with them, it will not fall apart in the baking type.

Whether you eat a simple chicken roll like sausage, or you choose to eat it hot with a mashed potato and a lettuce, you will definitely have something good on the plate, healthy cooking, with a beautiful presentation.

1. Cut the chicken into pieces, season, salt and pull a little in the pan, preferably in a Teflon pan, without oil. It doesn't have to be done too much, because it then puts me in the oven. It can also be boiled, but it seems a little better fried.

2. The puree is mixed with 2 eggs, a little cheese and salt.

3. Grease a bowl of hyena with butter and pour the puree into it. Put the chicken pieces on top.

4. Mix the white sauce with the rest of the eggs.

5. Pour into the hyena bowl and put the remaining cheese and a few pieces of butter on top.

6. Put in the oven for about 30 minutes, until it takes on color on top.

White sauce (I made 500ml but didn't use everything):

Melt the butter without heating it up, add the flour, chew until incorporated (DO NOT fry) and then add the warm soup little by little, stirring.

For the soup. It is interesting to have something like this in the house. For this, buy chicken bones and boil them plain or with some vegetables. Strain, and then I put the juice in bags and in the freezer. It is used when needed.
The gratin is served hot, possibly with a salad.
