Sour cabbage is a simple food, as our grandmothers used to do. It is very good in the cold season or during fasting periods. It has a special taste and can be served with polenta.
- 2 medium sour cabbages
- 2 onions
- 150 ml oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- a little ground black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- 250 ml water
- 3 tablespoons broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Servings: 8
Preparation time: less than 90 minutes
RECIPE PREPARATION Quality sour cabbage, fasting:
The cabbages are kept in water overnight to dry.
Peel an onion, wash it, chop it and fry it in oil with a little salt and a little ground pepper.
Coarsely chop the cabbage and add over the golden onion along with the bay leaves and a little ground pepper. Allow the cabbage to harden, then add a cup of water and simmer until reduced.
At the end, add the broth and paprika and keep it on the fire for 2-3 minutes.
Sour cabbage is served with polenta.
