The Hollywood star goes hand fishing in these ads shot in Davenport, Iowa

Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell of Anchorman fame decided to support Pabst Brewing Co.'s Old Milwaukee beer pro bono, and here are the ridiculous results. He decided to hang out in Davenport, Iowa, because "it looks like something that would be fun to do, come out here and sit on a log and drink Old Milwaukee."

He does a stint of hand fishing, regular fishing, and acrostic poem-writing. These ads were catered towards five cities (including Davenport) along the Mississippi, but now there's a Will Ferrell ad for Terre Haute, Ind., too.

Will Ferrell’s Old Milwaukee Super Bowl Commercial

Super Bowl commercials come in all shapes and sizes, but this one aired in only one TV market Sunday night. That’s right, the only way you were going to see this Old Milwaukee spot starring Will Ferrell during the game was if you lived in North Platte, Nebraska – the second-smallest TV market in the country.

“The Old Milwaukee campaign featuring Will Ferrell as a whole is about paying homage to great Old Milwaukee towns,” says Daren Metropoulos, co-owner of Pabst Brewing Company. “North Platte, Nebraska is just another one of those towns, and what goes better with football than Old Milwaukee beer.

“The ads with Will Ferrell are extremely popular which just shows you don’t need to spend millions of dollars to make a big impression.”

What began with Ferrell approaching the brand to make some commercials because he’s “a big fan of the beer,” has translated into a variety of hilarious 30-second spots shot in Davenport, Iowa and Terre Haute, Indiana.
